Welcome to the official blog of the Associate Dean of Assessment and Educational Technologies. This will be a means for gathering and publishing announcements, information, and resources on the two areas I serve: assessment and educational technologies. While two different aspects of the academic world have some overlap, this blog will distinguish the two by categorizing the postings within the central blog column and by dedicating a side column to each area. The links in each column is an RSS feed from two research groups that use Diigo (a social bookmarking service) to share and comment on links to online resources on assessment and educational technologies. This is a bilingual blog, which means that its main components and official announcements will be published in Spanish and in English. That being said, rather than allow the time and effort required for translation to limit the material to be published, I will publish some things in Spanish and others in English. I recommend an imperfect but practical technology that may help with this issue is Google Translate, which places tools at your disposal to instantly translate entire Web sites and/or selected texts.

Este será un medio para la recolección y publicación de anuncios, información y recursos en las dos áreas que sirve mi oficina: el avalúo y las tecnologías de aprendizaje. Aunque estos dos elementos del mundo académico tienen cierta convergencia, esta bitácora los distinguirá a través de la categorización de los mensajes del blog de la columna central y dedicando una columna a cada área. Los enlaces de cada columna surgen de dos grupos de investigación que utilizan Diigo (social bookmarking service) para compartir enlaces a recursos en línea sobre el avalúo y las tecnologías de aprendizaje. Este es un blog bilingüe, lo que significa que sus principales componentes y los anuncios oficiales se publicarán en español y en inglés. Dicho esto, en lugar de permitir que el tiempo y el esfuerzo necesarios para la traducción limiten el material que pueda publicar, publicaré algunas cosas en español y otras en inglés. Puedo recomendar una tecnología imperfecta que nos puede ayudar con este reto: Google Translate, que pone a su disposición herramientas para traducir al instante todo los sitios de Internet y/o textos seleccionados.
