El Instituto para el Desarrollo de la Enseñanza y el Aprendizaje en Línea (IDEAL) y la Biblioteca General del Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez, convocan a todos los interesados a participar en el Tercer Congreso de Blogfesores que se celebrará el 7 y 8 de mayo de 2009 en el Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.

Durante este tercer congreso titulado Blogfesores 2009: Open Access, exploraremos las implicaciones del movimiento mundial hacia el Acceso Abierto (Open Access) en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, investigación y publicación. El congreso está dirigido a maestros, profesores, investigadores, estudiantes y público en general interesado en examinar cómo integrar herramientas de acceso abierto en las actividades educativas y de investigación. Esperamos proveer un espacio para dialogar y reflexionar sobre el impacto de estas tecnologías en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje y de la misma manera tener experiencias directas con algunos de estos sistemas.

Se invita a los interesados a someter propuestas para talleres interactivos de dos horas y para presentaciones participativas de una hora. Las mismas deben enviarse a cpomales@uprm.edu, bajo la atención de la Dra. Cristina Pomales. Las propuestas para presentaciones y talleres deben ser recibidos no más tarde del 20 de febrero de 2009. El Comité se comunicará con los ponentes para el 6 de marzo de 2009.

Las presentaciones y propuestas para talleres deben girar en torno a los siguientes temas:

Las presentaciones pueden ser informes sobre estudios empíricos, tanto cualitativos como cuantitativos, desarrollos teóricos, revisiones integradoras o críticas de la literatura en torno a las aplicaciones e implicaciones del contenido abierto. Además se aceptarán ponencias sobre experiencias prácticas que demuestren excelencia en el uso de estas herramientas en el contexto educacional.

Presentación de propuestas para presentaciones y talleres

La propuesta a entregarse no mas tarde del 20 de febrero de 2009, debe incluir los siguientes elementos (alrededor de cinco páginas):

1. Título y nombre del autor
2. Tipo de formato: presentación participativa de una hora o taller interactivo de dos horas
3. Resumen
4. Objetivos
5. Contenido del taller
6. Recursos audiovisuales o tecnológicos que necesitará

Call for Presentations

The Institute for the Development of Online Teaching and Learning (IDEAL, for its initials in Spanish) and the Library of the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez would like to encourage you to participate at the 3rd Blogfesores Congress to be held on May 7 – 8, 2009 at the Mayaguez Campus, Puerto Rico. During the Congress, Blogfesores 2009: Open Access, we will explore the implications of the global movement and impact of open access within the framework of teaching, learning, research and publication. This conference is intended for teachers, professors, researchers, students and the general public interested in trends and developments in open access and exploring how to integrate open access tools within educational endeavors and research. The conference will provide a platform for the presentation, dialogue, exchange and reflection of research ideas on the impact of these technologies in the educational environment and the opportunity to learn about the Open Access movement. They should stimulate and facilitate an atmosphere of active and constructive exchange on current issues of interest.

Authors are invited to submit papers and proposals for two (2) hour interactive workshops or one (1) hour interactive presentations that should stimulate and facilitate an atmosphere of active and constructive exchange on current open access issues. These should be sent to Dr. Cristina Pomales at cpomales@uprm.edu no later than February 20, 2009. Presenters of accepted proposals will be notified by March 6, 2009 about the status of their proposals.

The presentations may be but not limited to qualitative or quantative case studies, theoretical development, integrated research report or literary criticism regarding the applications and implications of open access content. In addition, papers describing practical experiences that demonstrate excellence and ingenuity in the use of these tools with the educational context.

Presentation and Workshop Formats

1. The proposal should be submitted no later than February 27, 2009 and should include the following elements (approximately 2 to 3 pages)

3. Type of format: one (1) hour participative presentation or the two (2) hour interactive workshop

5. Objectives (clearly explaining the mission and concerns of your proposal)
