NSF-STC Internal Competition Ended

The Internal Competition Process for the NSF-Science and Technology Centers ended last Monday, August 18, 2008.  Three Letters of Intent for STC’s as Leader and one for an STC as Collaborator were officially received.  Since the limits of three proposals as leader and two as collaborator were not exceeded, the projects for which LOI’s were received will be the ones competing on behalf of UPRM. 

The projects as leaders are:

  • José Colucci, et al.  “Science and Technology Center for Energy Innovation”
  • Belinda Pastrana, et al.  “Science and Technology Center: Comprehensive Center in Bioinformatics and Visualization of Proteins
  • Jayanta K. Banerjee, et al. “SCT in Bio-nano-tribology Center for Graduate and Undergraduate Education and Research”

The project as collaborator is:

  • Miguel Vélez, et al. “Sustainable Futures 2100: Understanding and Engineering the Complexity of Urban Systems (with Arizona State U. & Carnegie Melon U.)

Preliminary Proposal Due Date: September 30, 2008.
