The R&D Center’s Proposal Development Unit (PDU) is pleased to announce the participants of the 2012 NIH Grant Writer’s Initiative, sponsored by the NIH-EARDA Program, which starts January 2012.  The selected participants are (in alphabetical order): Mauricio Cabrera (Industrial Engineering), Saylisse Dávila (Industrial Engineering), Yasmín Detrés (Marine Sciences), José M. Huerta (Agriculture), Junqiang Lu (Physics), Sandra L. Maldonado (Biology), Rose Méndez (Nursing), and Karen R. Ríos Soto (Mathematics).  They have committed to participate in this year-long initiative designed with two objectives in mind, to assist them in the development of their proposal writing skills, as well as their understanding of the NIH application process, and to create a community of NIH Researchers & Grant Writers to strengthen UPRM faculty funding capabilities.   We look forward to a very productive year.  Congratulations!
