“Taller Sigma” gran apoyo para las matemáticas
Taller sigma, es un blog dedicado a estudiantes de matemáticas para brindarles apoyo en las distintas aplicaciones de esta materia. Este blog es manejado por el maestro Félix Vélez Crespo quien ejerce su profesión como maestro de matemáticas en el pueblo de San Juan, Puerto Rico. En este blog podemos encontrar temas relacionados con las matemáticas así como lo son: Aplicaciones de las matemáticas, Geometría, Historia de las Matemáticas, La Música es la más bella de las Matemáticas, Pitágoras, reflexiones y pensamientos. Su diseño es muy organizado y fácil de entender, además de que tiene un color acorde con el contenido. Pero tal vez necesita más color y más fotos para atraer el interés del estudiantado. También puedes encontrar algunos juegos de estrategia como: sudoku, damas y ajedrez. Estos juegos son una buena herramienta para crear interés en matemáticas a los estudiantes, de una forma diferente.
Como señala el Sr. Vélez en su saludo de bienvenida, este blog no es solo para el estudiante sino para el maestro: “Más bien, pretendemos ofrecer un recurso tecnológico que se añade a los esfuerzos pedagógicos del maestro que van dirigidos tanto a sus estudiantes como a cualquiera que tenga acceso a la red, incluyendo a maestros. Por esto, hacemos referencias de apoyo para estudiantes y para maestros, de manera tal que tengan un pequeño catálogo de sitios en la red que los puedan ayudar a entender mejor las Matemáticas, para aprenderla y enseñarla”.
En este blog puedes encontrar otros blogs de maestros de matemática en los cuales hay gran variedad de temas y actividades interactivas donde el estudiante puede practicar con los números y aprender de estos en una forma divertida. Es notable que Vélez tiene gran interés en que sus estudiantes no pierdan el interés en las matemáticas y que de algún modo u otro se mantengan practicando el material que se brinda en el salón de clases.
Es muy interesante ver como poco a poco los maestros han ido involucrándose en la tecnología y comenzado a utilizar el internet como una herramienta de enseñanza. El internet ha facilitado mucho al estudiante y al educador ya que desde la distancia pueden mantener una comunicación y le permite acezar al material de clase en cualquier momento. No hay duda de que los blogs son una forma de mantener al estudiante al día en sus tareas y permite que los estudiantes sean participes de esta ola tecnológica que arropa el mundo educativo de hoy día.
