1. write an essay (free topic). If you do any research or use the Internet for any purpose, you will have a work cited page and you must cite the source in your paper. Use your skills of paraphrase, summary, and quotation. Do not copy from the Internet.

2. Write your resume. See this attachment for the format: resume by guillermo ortiz

Class Book: An Old Saying

Everyone knows lots of old sayings. For example, “Look before you leap” or “Don’t cry over spilt milk.” For the class book, think of an old saying in Spanish. If you can’t think of one you like, ask your parents or grandparents. Then, write a big paragraph explaining, in English, what it means. Of course if you translate it directly, it won’t make very much sense.

On the last day of class, Dec. 7, bring 25 copies of your old saying paragraph. You will give everybody a copy and we will put them all together so each person has a class book with everybody’s photo on the cover. Here is a sample: You nomoa den skai

This file contains the ten readings that you will use for your homework. Each one shows the date it is due (also on calendar). You hand in the paper on the due date and when you get it back, you can revise it. You can also get extra credit by going to the writing center.
