Write a sonnet, post it in the Forum space created for it by Monday, November 2.

Here’s a good resource for reference: http://www.sonnets.org/basicforms.htm

Enjoy!

Love's Betrayal

No such feeling has come over me before

Colors and smells seem so new to me now

Innocent and pure this blessing bestowed

Can't tell apart fantasy from reality

For I have been trapped in this dream

A wonderful dream that I don't wish to end

The most beautiful feeling called love

The most powerful thing the gods have made

But just as you smile when in love, you frown

Just as you feel happy, you feel damned

Just as you love him, you can hate him

Your heart can break in a second

When you feel the disappointment it brings

Because love can also be the worst betrayal

Oh my son

Again the night is so cold

Because to perish my son is about to do

A disease has travel beyond the world

Trying to take my son away is its work

Death and rotten spirits come along

From far away where light has been doom

The poor child does not know

That he is in danger and still laugh

But he is strong!

Like his father he is a fighter

And before you know, he will be out there

Again a normal boy in the park will play

But let’s wait!

Because to perish my son is about to do

How would I like to go to the beach

How would I like to go to the beach

With the sun reflecting on the sea

And where the ocean winds reach

As is life was problem free

To swim in the open water

And snorkel through the reefs,

I'd like to wonder

How that day would turn to be

But things are different now and I know,

that what I'd like to do

will have to wait not 'till tomorrow

but until we repay the time due

So goodbye, beach I thirst

Se 'ya on December twenty first

The king

Of all the artists and entertainers,

he was the most controversial.

He was criticized and judged harshly

 by everyone in the world.

He went to trial for crimes he didn’t do,

and almost went to jail.

Like scavengers waiting for an animal to die,

we watched as you tried to rebuild your career.

Then one day, you suddenly leave us.

All of us were in shock.

The king has died five days before his return!!

Every person that made fun of you or called you names

are now crying with regret.

All we have now are the videos that prove This is it!

                  Imposible love

In the road of the love the pardon stays

Like a fabulous way to be strong

I can not hear the noises alone

Because my heart needs many shinning days

Through the unknown mystery of the waves

The legends of externals passion grown

Like a ball in the table of ping-pong

You enter in the exit of the braves

*I hate the magic of the way you are

With my short talent of been magician

So sorry to broke your pretty blood radar

Ambition, sex, to broking virgin

I’m not ready to get my own toolbar

Stay in the sand; it’s no time to question!

Waiting

Waiting is a wicked, wretched little snake

It toys with feelings and manipulates

At driving one crazy, it takes the cake,

while fooling around with our fates

We wait for knowledge, for food,

For the love of a friend,

For bad things to happen, and good

And even for our own end.

Why can't we eradicate the wait?

I should like things on the spot

Why can't we eradicate the wait?

And forget this whole lot

Yet despite how evil waiting may appear,

it always makes things all the more dear.

The Hunter

In a place where few men have been before

Where civilization is left behind

And there is only nature that makes you sore

With rifle in hand he is seeking to find

Walking silently through vast vegetation

Sunset is ending, but he has no fear

Following paw marks with great dedication

A sudden stop, stillness, a sound now he hears

There is his striped prey, there in the river

Beautiful fusion of colors, nothing like dull

His firm and cold hands, finger in the trigger

Sweat drops on his forehead, he is ready to pull

The boy wakes up, but still with the illusion

Of his constant dream see the conclusion

Life

I cherish life, for it treats right the just

Though lie it is, but it is not for me

Work hard, I do, to have good luck I must

In time, we’ll see if that’s the way to be

Yet there are times where challenges do arise

And I can’t do a thing but try my best

If life’s a game, why there are always cries?

People there are, and always in protest

Twice did I try, this game, to win the race

But tough, it is, and men can’t always win

In time, we’ll learn, but time not at our pace

Persist, we can, and always with a grin

Don’t lose your hopes nor trap them in despair

Just be as smart, as life will let you be

And you’ll be fine, for fine I am today

So get to work, and start the lucky spree

So now you know, the trail hard it will be

And in the end you could end just like me

Love Without Boundaries

They're a thousand miles apart

Love and hope hold them together.

She tries not to cry when they talk.

He's always trying to cheer her up.

All odds are againts them

No one  believes they're gonna make it.

They know it's hard,

But still they try and never give up.

He receive a call from her,

She told him she's in the front door.

He rapidly runs to open it

Found her, as beautiful as always.

They lived every second of that moment.

There's no distance for love, real love that is.

My Love

Every time you smile, my kind flame;

My heart gets lighted up with indescribable joy.

A happiness compared with a little boy.

Remembering just beautiful memories, no blame.

This relationship isn’t so easy to explain.

But having you in my arms I enjoy.

I just wish this minute went slow;

And hold you forever, no shame.

Somehow you are not in my arms today.

An ending that has sadly, come too fast.

But my love for you won’t die.

You still bring a smile to my face everyday.

Filling me with courage when you’re on my mind;

To keep pursuing this love that’s meant to last.

This First Love of Mine

God has been good, giving me hands and feet
For I love this with all my heart ,
So when I’ll know it’s dead, I would surely weap

Because it has been with me since the start
Although my future with you feels as my curtain will fall
It will never , ever take us apart

My dream job, I wish it would call
For the time I spent loving you
Since the day I could remember when I’d crawl

For that day we met, my love towards you grew
And if someone tried to take me from you , I would start a brawl
So when I can’t see you anymore, my day will be dim and blue

The heart , desire , passion and the seriouseness in which I crossed the line
This first love of mine.

Fearing

As I was lying awake in my bed
Arose my fear of being left behind
Diverse thoughts, like zombies, they were undead
In this nightmare I was losing my mind.

Like a berserker claiming its kingdom
Deranged, unstable, and delusional
It lunged forward, total pandemonium
Just the fear of dying, of losing all.

I struggled in this relentless nightmare
Finally breaking from pitiless chains
Like an IV, to be free, to not care
But to survive we need to feel the pains.

To win sometimes pleasure is not enough
Sometimes only the pain can make us tough.

A poet and his poem

When writing a poem one shall embrace

the beauty of words when properly placed

show there is no fear, for they have all been faced

reflect thy nature's elegance and grace

He which can magically encase

thy inner feelings the reader retraced

searching in depth for thou words fortaste

applying symbolism is the base

If thou can rhyme and have written before

let your imagination take its course

letters are key, if vocabulary is poor

imagery can overpower and give its force

what you express leads a path to a door

where readers relate emotion is the source.

Dracula Ballet Boredom

Surrounded I, by people at the hall

Here I am at the Dracula ballet

All I can think, is running through the wall.

An array of awkward people lay.

The girl beside me sits waiting,

Her hair is such a horrible mess,

All I wonder is what is she thinking?

Her mother is beside, but could care less.

And at the end of the Dracula show

I lay here telling everything I know.

I exit the theater with joy and delight

Looking back at those people with fright.

*PS: two lines are missing…. :(

Creating

Should my mind embarck on a spontaneus journey?

Or imagine a World with no troubles,

Maybe drown in an endless ocean of emotions

Where the choice is between love and passion.

To dictionaries, the word judgment is non-existent

for there is no wrong to puzzle.

Logic: its logically a barrier

in a place where feelings conquer

where connections are not systematic

and a square could be a triangle.

Why fear the irrational?

It is what constantly surrounds the life of a toddler.

It might just be the most innate expression,

but creating is just for others.

The golden medals belong to you

and your friend Johnnie needs help walking.

You know you only have studied few

for the test the professor has been postponing.

In this position I've been before,

where no means yes, and yes means no.

But calculus is not a course made to ignore

and the results will come in low.

Going back to integrals and numbers,

there is something catching your sight.

It's that brand new pair of Nike sneakers,

just waiting to see the world tonight.

Be careful you regret your decision,

at the end you can

What is love, but annoyance to some

They say it takes time from one

They tell how it brought them in a downcome

Those who have it want it to be undone

It weights in their life as much as a ton

Even I would agree with its size

Also those who lack it want of it none

They don’t see it as a gift from the skies

They see how it brings there heart to demise

And in all these thoughts, all I see is loves negative

For them to stay without love is wise

For they with their eyes don’t see loves positive

Yet I who found love disagree with all this,

Because between all of love’s faults, it’s still sweeter than a kiss
