“Auto/Biography across the Americas: Reading beyond Geographic and Cultural Divides” is a scholarly summit convened by The Autobiography Society and its academic journal, a/b: Auto/Biography Studies.

This international, interdisciplinary, multilingual symposium brings together thirty esteemed autobiography studies scholars to discuss themes, genres, and methodologies from their diverse geographic and cultural perspectives. Scholars from Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America will meet for four days to chart new ways of thinking about and researching autobiographical narratives, while forging international, cross disciplinary research collaborations.

“Autobiography Across the Americas” will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in July of 2013. Outcomes from this academic summit include a special issue of a/b: Auto/Biography Studies, an edited scholarly book, a website, and the inception of the International Auto/Biography Studies Association-Chapter of the Americas.
